Studio Policy

The following lists policies by which I offer private and group lessons. Please review them carefully and let me know if you have any questions.

Commencement of lessons is considered acceptance of the studio policies.

Caroline’s Responsibilities

My responsibility is to give you or your child a comprehensive music education. Students will be exposed to a range of music, theory, styles, and creative activities. For each lesson, learning, growth as a musician, and enjoyment are considered.

It is also my responsibility to maintain and advance my own musical education and pedagogical methods with continuing education.

Student/Parent Responsibilities

Students are to be ready on time for piano lessons, with their materials, and having practiced or completed their assignments. Piano class time is not practice time. Parents are to help students set up a schedule at home for regular reviewing of their materials through the week. This will allow the student to experience the most satisfaction and growth.

A piano is required for practicing at home. Please let me know if you have questions about choosing an instrument.

Studio Calendar

Classes start in September and continue through mid-June, and include class recitals and a full studio recital. Classes are once per week with no classes over the 2-week Christmas Break and 1-week March Break.

Piano Clubs are offered in July and August.

Students may begin lessons at any time during the year providing there is space available.

Registration Fee and Tuition Fees

The registration fee of $80 ($55 for preschoolers) reserves your spot in the studio and covers all your materials for the year (September to June).

Payments may be made in one of three ways:

  1. By Year: One payment due by September 1st.
  2. By Semester: Payment is split into two installments, due by September 1st and February 1st.
  3. By Month: There are ten months per studio year. Payments are divided into 10 installments due by the first day of each month from September 1st to June 1st.

Payments are accepted by cash or e-transfer only. All payments are non-refundable. Late payments will incur a 10% late fee.

Missed Lessons

Missed lessons due to forgetfulness, illness, or vacation are non-refundable. If I am sick or otherwise unavailable, I will make every effort to reschedule your lesson.

Discontinuing Lessons

If you wish to discontinue lessons, please notify me by email, with one month’s notice.

Contacting Caroline

Students and parents are welcome to contact me by phone, text, or email at any time. However, please note that if you contact me during teaching hours, I may not see your message until afterward. I will return your call, text, or email as soon as possible.

Media Release

From time to time, I will record or take pictures of lessons. These videos and images help showcase the studio. They may be posted on this website and the studio’s social media, with names kept private.

Privacy Policy

Any personal information, such as phone number and email, will be used only for purpose of communication with you and will not be shared.

Student Stories

“Caroline is patient and has a good spirit. She does a great job of keeping Nora on task, adjusting the lessons when necessary to regain her focus, and selecting appealing materials that make lessons fun and exciting. We also appreciate having a teacher who has pivoted so well during COVID. Continuing piano through virtual lessons has maintained some normalcy for Nora, which has been very important during these unprecedented times.”
